The weather has improved and looking in my wardrobe, I felt that it looked a little tired – no, to be honest, it looked boring! Last year’s models, laundered a lot of times and still with considerable wear potential, but…BORING! And if your wardrobe looks boring, then naturally, bags and shoes will appear a small-scale tired as well!
I ought to also purchase a birthday present for a friend, and have decided to add to her collection of pill boxes. I have surfed the net, and found a few sites offering very good selections, but as I'm going to check out the Stores, I will see what is accessible knowing that I can rely on the Internet if I can’t discover anything I really like.
So my list will consist of lightweight pants, a few ‘tops’, shoes and a bag, and my friend’s gift.
I have to admit to being of that ‘age’ when most in the clothes and accessories on display in Store windows – you know the ones, colourful, floaty, flimsy, short, daring, and figure hugging, all the words associated with fashion for the younger model! - are a bit unsuitable. I like to appear, to use modern jargon, ‘cool’, ‘with it’, and stylish but not over the top, not ‘mutton dressed as lamb’! And it will be so effortless but luckily I have fairly conservative tastes for myself!
It’s a lovely day and I set off with high hopes for a effective day! My very first purchase should be for the lightweight pants, and I have decided on a light grey, or beige/stone as I already have a few pairs of coloured pants. I go to a couple of Stores and at the third I am productive in finding a extremely flattering pair of pants in pale grey, well cut and at a extremely great cost!
Eventually I locate a Shop displaying a variety of pretty, colourful tops and to my delight I soon uncover exactly what I'm looking for. Bright, jewel colours but not garish, and flattering in style – again I am pleased with the prices!
A break is required now, to check-over my purchases, and figure out what colour shoes, and bag I need to have. An iced coffee would be most enjoyable, and whilst I'm waiting to become served, a friend sees me and comes to join me. She as well is having a ‘retail therapy’ day and she shows me her purchases. We set off together both seeking shoes. At just one shoe store, I immediately fall in love using a pair of sandals which will match my new pants and 1 of the tops! And I can’t resist them!!
Near the end of my day and just two purchases to make! I really like shopping for bags. I am constantly stunned by the amount of bags readily available, huge, big, small and tiny, in fantastic ranges of colours in all shapes and sizes, from soft and squishy, to chic stand-offish fashion – using a variable price range to match! I'm in seventh heaven just looking, and believe me I am spoilt for choice! But eventually I discover a lovely grey, hobo bag, slightly darker than my pants. OK it wasn’t cheap, but worth it! The purse is plain, so I will have to have to accessorize it. What could be better than one from the charming Fumi bracelet purse hooks. Perhaps I can find one that will match numerous ensembles, and all is complete! I love Purse Hooks!
And finally, a China and glassware store for my friends gift. I find a delightful small pill box decorated with cats which I know she will adore and, which is more to the point, use. She has a large collection but generally uses them by rotation when she is away from house for any length of time.
And I head for house very satisfied with my day’s work!
