A new class of sandals has gained a lot of popularity over the last few years. They are classified as fit sandals. They claim to promote better health and a more effective workout by just walking in them. Several brands have hit the scene that promote benefits such as more toned muscles, increased calorie burn, less joint pain and a much more improved posture.

Many styles of fit shoes have entered the market that come in many different types. With the variety available, it shouldn't be hard to find a style that fits your budget and wardrobe requirements. Since there are so many to pick from and many different reviews out there that speak to their effectiveness, It is worth noting two of the more talked about styles.

Think about going to the beach for a second. Try to conceptualize how hard it is to walk on the sand. This is what the first type of footwear I'll talk about feels like. The name of this brand is MBT. It is a company that first became popular in England and is the most widely purchased fit shoe. The design is such that it gives a workout while you walk, very similar to the walking challenge of beach sand.

The heel, which is shaped like a boat, is the special ingredient to this footwear line. The technology has several elements that promote a much more improved posture among other benefits. What the maker claims is that all of us walk normally on hard surfaces all day long. What the shoe does is mimic walking on softer ground. This, in turn, decreases the amount of shock place on the joints like the knees. In addition, many users have commented that they aid in back pain, more toned muscles, and weight loss.

Another brand, featured on Oprah, is called FitFlops. These look like flip flops, but they are much healthier. Again, another product stemming from England, this footwear has crossed the big pond and become a huge craze in the United States over the last couple of years. The difference between these and the MBT is that this footwear is very cute looking. Who says you can't look good while getting a workout?

The developers of FitFlops spent years researching a way to train the bottom of the foot to work as if it were barefoot, while still having the support of a shoe. Again, inducing instability creates muscle awareness. The mid soles of the FitFlop challenges the muscles that normally would not be used, tones legs and thighs and creates better posture. This is done with the FitFlop "microwobble" effect.

It's not often that you find a healthy sport shoe that actually looks appealing. The FitFlop fits the bill. You can not only count on them to deliver a great workout as you walk, but also count on them to garner compliments from your friends on the stylish look they provide

Both of these fitness sandals are great for those people with no time to spare. If you can't find the time to go to the gym to get a workout, then one of these two brands are a great alternative.
